Not sure if anyone/everyone has seen this yet. I was looking for parts to build my DIY LED light on the Finnex and ran across this - http://reefbuilders.com/2009/06/29/jbj-nano-glo-refugium-led-lighting/. Looks pretty clean and useful.

Not a bad looking fixture. Is this for your tank or refugium?

It is made for the fuge. I kind of want to order one just to check it out.
i was going through all kinds of parts and leftovers that I have making a list and ran across this one - it sure would be easier to buy it rather than curse and cuss a DIY project (for me anyway)

Not sure how big your refugium is, but I have a spare double underwater 5w led light you can try out. Total 10w.

I appreciate the offer. i have one on there now and was toying with the idea of adding LED's to it instead of the PC's it has. It is more of a want then a need, but I will keep your light in mind.

No problem. I use one of the underwater lights on my biocube. It makes it easy to deal with keeping the factory hood.

Luckily on my Finnex it is all open top so it will be easy to use what ever I want. It is at the FD in your town if you want to check it out.

We have this on our new 28 gallon jbj tank. It's really cool and works great. I'm pretty sure we have an extra one for sell too. :) Along with replacement bulbs for the compact flourescent 28 gallons. You should come check everything out.

I ordered one last week along with a chiller -- decided it was too nice looking and convenient to pass on for my biocube at work :) I'll report on it soon!

Marcus -- is that the new LED-powered NanoCube? Thats the only model I've heard of that comes with it, but haven't looked real heavily into it :)

They both look super. Does the first light also sit in the water? http://reefbuilders.com/2009/06/29/jbj-nano-glo-refugium-led-lighting/
It is late and I can't really tell. Looks like time to spend money.

No, the lights themselves are outside the tank -- think Mag-float... there is a small mounting magnet for the inside, that holds the light in place -- below that is the LED's :)

Justin, mind if I check it out in person when you get yours in? I am really thinking about saving my sanity by not doing the diy led light for my fuge. This one might fit the bill, but I want to see and touch before before I buy

John, only difficulty is that its on my tank at work -- and my work is pretty secured, plus I'm here from 10p til 9a -- not usually when people wanna be out and about (I'm crazy that way :D) I just got it in today, and I will say though that if you've got a clear pane on the back side to place the light, its a great deal... the light is very bright, and putting it together takes all of 30 seconds :)

Cool, I might have to try it. Live on the wild side - you know what I mean?
The only thing that worries me is how strong the magnet is. On the Finnex the fuge is a glass box set inside the tank so there is a slight gap (2 pieces of glass to go through)

Hey John, why are you considering replacing the stock Finnex fuge light?

I've had the JBJ Nano-Glo running on my BC8 for about 2, maybe 3 weeks now... its growing chaeto like a beast :) I'm heavily considering going with another for my HOB fuge on my 57 gal, but still tossing back and forth a few other options... I would give it a big thumbs up for a BioCube/NanoCube/similar though :)

Well that we can definitely help with. Let us know when / if it's convenient.

Im not sure how big the fuge is but if its like what I have im my BC I use an LED puck light and I am getting good growth on my chaeto. I got the LED puck light from Home Depot for like $20. I just attached it to the back of my tank with velcro tape facing in the window.
