I have already done quite a bit of reading on RC on the subject.

Looking for advice/experience with carpet anemones.

Has anyone had any experience with online vendors and anemones? I am going to tap the LFS also.

If I am going to do this, I am going to do it right. I want a blue or red S. haddoni. I might settle for a green, if it was unusually bright or patterned.

I picked one up last night at Edaquatics. He has one more. It is green with light blue and purple stripes. Just thought I'd let you know.

I have never kept one but I know haddonis have a reputation for eating fish. Not saying yours will but I know there is one being passed around ARC that has eaten a couple fish. What about a gigantea? Although they are horrible shippers.

For best advice on this, contact OrionN here on Maast.....Most knowledgable person I have met when it comes to anemones. He has several, including a couple of carpets

I had a carpet anemone from (what was b&b's). Actually my in-law brought it with my advice. It out grow his tank, then I purchase it from him and put it in my. I also have other anemone that I added. And when I did it seem to be very unhappy. Almost like there were fighting. However in the beginning it was wonderful I should just keep her. And not added more anemones. My experience is that they do much better by themselves. Corkeygramma has it now. She should have a few tips or two. oh one thing make sure u feed it.

Haddoni carpets are not too demanding as far as anemones go. They will do better with clean water and bright light and not too much circulation. Carpet must have sand as they like to burry their foot in the sand. Once they settle, they can grow very fast with lots of food. They are very aggressive fish eater. In the confine of a tank, they likely will eat some of your fish even huge big tangs. Don't put any fish in the tank that you cannot loose.
Red Haddoni are difficult to find and cost a lot. Purple and blue are slightly cheaper. Good luck in finding a good one.

Thanks Minh. That pretty much follows what I read on the RC Anemone/Clown forum. Now, I just need to get a tank setup.

Thanks to everyone,

Well I have my 60 gallon tank now. I need to make some modifications to the hood, canopy, stand, and sump.

Will post pictures as the build progresses.

Please submit your suggestions and criticisms. I am a big believer that many brains are better than one....
