Curious to know what others use to mix up saltwater for water changes. I want to mix small amounts, 2-3 gallons at a time for my nano.

I have a 55 gallon drum sitting next to my big tank, with RO water plumbed to it. Not good for small amounts.

I've been told that Firehouse subs sells 5 gallon buckets for $3. Good price and the money goes to charity.

Not very original eh? lol

New feed buckets and a small trough from Tractor Supply. They look kind of like the big Rubbermaids that folks use for sumps - plus they are built sturdy. I like using them because they are portable and I have yet to have a handle snap off like the plastic salt buckets do. Nothing beats having to say - Gee Honey I am really sorry that I just dumped 5 gallons of poo water on our new carpet while I was heading outside.

I've got a 20 gallon Rubbermaid Brute can next to the 75 gallon. Since my nano is so small, I just pirate water from this before doing my water changes, and take it with me to work. I also have a 32 gal Brute out back for RO/DI storage... I still have to get an auto-topoff setup :)

I pump water out of my 55 gallon barrel into a 5 gallon pail.

Was hoping someone would have a neat idea that I never thought of.

I have two five gallon water jugs. The kind with the spout that you can find at WallyWorld by the water purifier. One for fresh salt water and one for siphoning out. Seems to work considering I have a 30 gallon tank.

yup me too , 5 gallon buckets. I can't afford a storage tank with a tank/equipment room for all that fancy stuff.

My ultimate goal is to build a cabinet next to my tank with a small tank inside to mix water in, and plumb it directly into my sump. Flip a switch and the water change is done. Still have to carry buckets for my nano across the room.
