they both look good, just depends on where you are headed with the tank. if you were planning on some stag formation sps, the original arrangement would be great for that on the top of the island. the new one would be good for more sand dwelling corals and maybe even a cap or tabling acro or two.

I like the first but at the end of the day you're the one who has to stare at it --If you like the second better stick with it.

I like the second...I like the cave. The darkness makes it look eerie...

lol. It's funny how we all see things so differently! You see a cave and think: "cool! dark and eerie" and I see one and think: "let's put something bright and colorful like a sun coral in there!"

I like sun corals in caves... that's a good idea. Especially in a small tank that you can reach them easily to feed. They are one of my favorite corals... just not feasible in my tank. I use to have a collection of 4 different types. Loved them. Definitely a great addition to a small tank.

I like the second one myself.

The first looks like a more stable arrangement and will give a greater spread when the coral's grow out imo. :D

I like the second one dude, but I have a cave in mine as well. May well be a dude thing. In fact I have a kenya or a colt stretching up inside the cave that gives an interesting look. I think something similar would look good in there, either a suncoral (a large colony just behind the shadow line so it's visible) or a tree like waving forest that requires low light.

I prefer the first but it's your tank so who cares what anyone else likes.

I like them both. They both have some sort of cave. The first just gives your fish more swimming room on the top.

I like the first more. How is your tank so clean? I have algae on the walls pretty badly :(
