What's your favorite tang?

Mine would have to be our sailfin as it is so friendly but love the looks of the juvenile chevron.

I don't have one, but I really do like the look of an Achilles tang. Once I finally get a larger tank, it will be on my stocking list.

I would LOVE to get me a Purple Tang.
But it'll have to wait until I get an upgrade.
You know what's funny is that my Yellow Tang and Clownfish are buddies. lol
If I had to add another Tang in the future, it would be the Purple Tang.

As a juvy very docile, as an adult not so. He is in a 200 with a Copperband, Flame Angel, False Percula, Pair of Mandarins, 1" clown trigger, and I am getting ready to add a juvy 1 1/2" Emperator. The Chevron is the best algae eater of all tangs. You would be suprised what our local LFS can get these for. (Much less then what is online) And since they come from Hawaii they do very well. I got this one from Alex at Wolf Reef. Ed I think got me another but I sold him when I sold the tank he was in. The first one I had I ordered from Eddie at Alamo Aquatics, but I lost him to stupidity when I was moving him and he ran into a rock.

I just lost one of three helfrichi firefish this way, but it was it's own fault. It darted into a rock and died. I was like NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!:at_wits_end:

Powder RED tang. Don't have one, but think its pretty cool that the biggest one they have discovered only got to about 3.3 inches. And the chocolate tang. Pretty much all the tangs!

Honorable mention to my yellow tang. It's sheer brilliance is often overlooked because it is common, but I cannot forget the first time I had one swimming in my dorky tank. It was Beautiful and still is...

is that the same thing as the maculiceps? i see a bunch of them on rc, mostly west coast posters only. and i saw two on live aquaria recently. the one one reefspecialty's website is very nicely colored. i have seen some with no spotting on the sides, like the one pictured, and other that have the spots across the entire abdomen. so would these be the same species or are they just look-alikes?

actually after checking the totm tank these came from i realized they are the exact same fish. the tank owner is also the owner of reef specialty. uh...duh alex! so yeah i guess they are the same fish. lol.

oh and btw, the maculiceps is my favorite as well.

I fell in love with my sailfin tang! I think she's so intelligent, and she does an excellent job of keeping the tank clan at all times. I only wish I had the chance to upgrade, i really don't want to see her go once she's too big.:at_wits_end:

Nobody likes the Clown (or Pajama) tang? I've never had one, but I think they're pretty. I've heard that they can be mean, though. Almost as bad a Sohal.
