Looking for some advice on a return pump. I'm currently running a rio 2100 or so which is doing the job sort of, but I would like an external with enough flow to help out with the circulation a bit. I have a typical 75g RR with the overflow in the left corner. Right now the return fixture has a single head output but I'm going to throw a dual headed one on there so I can hopefully use one head to hit a deadspot behind some rock and have the other one to help move the water surface around.. Any advice is much appreciated.

I would ditch the Rio, they are nothing but trouble. Have you ever seen one melt-down and nuke you tank with the black tar from inside the body? Nothing pretty. I would use an Eheim 1262. They are by far one of the best pump you can use. It can be use in-sump or externally. They last forever...

I ran a quiet one 4000 on my 65g its rated at 1017gph so i had to throttle it back but it is 4 yrs old and still works. i used it for my pump for water changes on my 90g. and now my buddy has it for his 110g just a thought they work internal or external
