Well hey, I'm sort of new at this saltwater business.
I've only had my BioCube 29 running for about 33 weeks.
BUT WHO'S COUNTING?!? lol :p

So I was wondering... is this how Hammer Corals reproduce??
Here's a pic I took earlier today.
They look like they're baby Hammer Corals. :)

Jen at Phenomenal Aquatics said that LPS likes me.
My boyfriend jokingly turns to me and asks, "WHO'S LPS?!"
After we left the store, I explained to him what it was.
She said that because I also mentioned that my Finger Leather Coral and Torch Coral grow like CRAZY!

Here are a few pictures. And yes, I'm having an algae problem. lol
Switched to filtered water and cutting down the lights... helps so far.
(Enjoy the extra pictures!)

My Yellow Tang and Black and White Clownfish are buds. :)
They hang out together and follow me around too!
No worries, when my Tang gets bigger, my friend's taking it.

Hammers will reproduce by either making a completely new bud...like your photo, or by splitting...i.e. one head gradually pinches together like a figure eight and you are left with two heads, each with their own mouth. It has been my experience that mine grow mostly by splitting. I get lots of baby buds...but they never grow because the larger heads block out the light.

Magnificant? Where?? lol

Yeah they look like they are babies!
Although the heads are splitting too. :)
I bought it with three heads and now they've split and I can count 7!

Nice pics Mabel! Great looking clown.

Much thanks!

I swear they're like best buds!!
I love both of those fish.
Back a few months ago, I had a B&W Clownfish but it died from ich I think.
So this one is fairly new. I love 'em!

what kind of lighting do you have, is it the stocked biocube lights or did you update? just curious, it looks great!

Nice pics, and not to rain on your parade but I hope you know that the tang will eventually out grow that tank. Just something to think about that way you can plan an upgrade before he gets too big! Very nice pic though!

LOL My eyes stick to bigger tanks. One day!!

But thanks guys! :) A bigger tank is hopefully in my picture.
I'm totally aware that Yellow Tang will outgrow my BioCube.
If I can't get a bigger tank by then, I'll go to plan B... give it to a friend.
Hoping I'll have enough saved up for one though! :D

I have a couple of frogspawns that are have split and are also sprouting heads from the bases of the adult heads. And they are growing too. I think they get their food whether it be from photosynthesis or solid food, from the adult heads. This allows them to grow in the shade. Just a thought.

Sweet! Well mine are still growing. :)
Have you fragged them?
I've seen a video on YouTube but it was a simple snap of the branches.
But I've heard and read it's best to cut them.
