A piece of my digi is not doing so good... portions of the branches are turning white and polyp extension is not as full as other digi in the same tank. This piece is the only one having problems. I had the lights off for a couple days while fighting down some algea. Any ideas on nursing back to health???

i've notice that digi it pretty hardy and once the problem is corrected things usually go back normal. the wierd thing is that, that was the only digi effected. Are you sure there's not another coral touching it?

I adjusted the flow a bit and moved that coral. It is perking up and seems to be doing good. I think it was just in a bad spot... Also, I am going to keep the lights going a little more now that the algea has died down...

I agree, test the water. But moving it around will help out to see what it wants, more light less light, or more current or less current. Good luck with the algae and the coral.

Happy to report everything is back to normal. Probly just light deprived for those couple days. I dont see any algea (knock on wood). My nitrates are sitting at 15-20, everything else is fine.

So what was the verdict?? I have had a colonie of digi just up and die....everything else doing fine....It's got to be some small variable that is explicit to Montipora Digitata.

Well I have another piece of digi right next to it and one was fine, while the other was struggling. The colony tipped over and broke, so I am going to make some smaller frags... Overall, just needed more lighting.

Digis are remarkably resilient. I scraped a rock with a chisel to get rid of it; it's fully recovered!
