I decided to break out the camera today and snap a few pics. Here is a semi-random sample:

Great shots! What camera are you using? That first SPS (prostrata?) is awesome.

Thanks! The camera is a Canon Rebel XTi with the kit lens it came with (EFS 15-55mm). I used a tripod and timer with a and ISO speed of 200 and F stop of ~20 (I was mostly experimenting today).

The coral in the first pic is a frag of your Gator Tri-Color Robusta.

Thanks! I wish I could attribute the quality to skill, but it's mostly dumb luck. :lauging:

Cool, my Gator Robusta is just starting to get its color back (Ahh, the power of waterchanges...) and hopefully it'll look as good as yours.

Actually, the frag isn't mine. I'm just a temporary care taker while it's home is freed from the iron fist of hair algae.

Hi Ryan,
Love the chalk bass - such a great fish that not many have! Also really like the way you have mixed up zoas together. The variety makes a great visual effect. :)

Thanks Kristy/Mike! The mixed group was an experiment. I put a few polyps of about five different colonies in there and that was the result.

I realized I hadn't taken an FTS well after I had put the camera away last night. I'll see if I can get one tonight.

I'm afraid there will not be a FTS tonight. I was looking at my tank and getting ready for a top off when I noticed something in my sump that I couldn't believe I was seeing. In the back corner, behind the protein skimmer and partly under the heater was the firefish that dissapeared about three months ago! I thought surely he was dead, but lo and behold, he was sitting there very much alive.
He looks very similar to an X-Ray fish after about three month of little to no food though. :( Right after I put him back into the display I realized I should have quarantined him so he could get some food ASAP, but he was under the rocks before I could even think about grabbing a net. All of my other fish took an immediate interest in him, so I killed the lights. Hence the reason for not getting any pics tonight. I hope the poor little guy can pull through, but he is terribly emaciated.

Cool, no hurry. Glad you found the little dude. Good call on cutting the lights off.

I was sure surprised to see him down there. I had written him off as a casualty weeks ago. I highly doubt he will survive though. He seemed pretty weak, but I'll do what I can for him.

No, the purple firefish in my avatar is as healthy as ever. The one I rediscovered last night is a Nemateleotris magnifica.
Hey Ryan,
Great Pics! :) Thank you for sharing.
Thanks!

Well, no sign of the refugee today or yesterday, but I did get a couple FTS taken last night. This is the best of the bunch:
