Ok found this after cleaning my live rock. its hard looks like a monti its brownish red in color and growing like a plate or cup coral. if it ain't is it good bad etc. also if it is good and coral any ideas on what it is. i have a about 5 to ten areas i found it growing. Its in the middle of the pictures hope they help. I hope my hunch of it being a type of cup coral are correct.

I have it all over as well. just not sure if i want to keep it or not its hard like coraline but not pretty i mean for a cup coral sure but not purple etc.

Stangchris is right it is a algae but I dont know what type it does grow and resemble a cup coral or plating monti although it can get out of hand if you dont keep it in check

Yeah, definitely looks like algae. A lawnmower blenny can take care of that for you.

Right on the money. I had some experience with this algae growing on a frag. It grows fast and looks cool. I didn't have any problems with it being evasive.
