Wanted to see what my options where in my area for RO/DI water purchase....I am at Sonterra Blvd and 281....Is AD the closest? Are some places cheaper than others...just curious....need to get a tank set up for a future move and this is one thing i will need to know until I am able to produce my own...

They (AD) are the closest to you. When B&B was on Blanco it was the cheapest place to go. They are on 35 and 1604 now.

Are you moving to that area? Thats pretty close to my house. I could hook you up with RODI for a while if you need it.

I'm also in the area. Sonterra BLVD is right off of Stone Oak parkway. I use to live on Sonterra Blvd at the Lodge At Sonterra Apartments. I'm right up the road now along with Jack and some other members. Jack helped me out a bit too with RO/DI! Great guy that's always willing to help. It's also nice to know who lives in the same area in case of emergencies and just for the casual frag swapping.

Thanks ...I will probably take y'all up on that....I plan on being up here full time by the end of September, probably sooner....right now I am splitting time between Port A (Wed nite-Sunday) and San Antonio (Sun nite - Wed)....Pretty crazy schedule but its all worth while....Anyways,....I have 8 systems currently running at my house but at times have had up to eleven....Initially,...I have to move 8 systems, but am going to have to set up two more shortly after I get here....So, I am setting up one here now so I can kind of "leap frog" everything up here each trip...Its kind of a logistical nightmare but I am not scared,...lol..well, maybe a little.....Anyways, thanks for the info and the offers....I'll be in Iron Mountain of Hardy Oaks and look forward to meeting yall at some point

I can help as well, have they connected Hardy Oak all of the way through? Iron Mountain is by the new hospital.

I'm off Blanco just past Wilderness Oak - construction like a mother over here....but no R.O. Just spoke with Reefs2U and he said .29 a gal. which seems good to me. Not sure what AD charges?

I think AD is .50 cent for a five gallon bucket if you bring your own. He charges a returnable five dollars if you require his buckets.

I live on the other side of 281 from Stone Oak and can provide you with RODI as well. Just give me a few hours warning and I will start the unit up.

Thanks all for the input....I will probably take one of you up on your offers on one of my next 2 visits....about to head back to Port A n a couple of hours...I'll be in touch...thanks again

As for the store prices.....
.29$ is pretty good, .50$ still not bad,....both cheaper than CC

Pretty sure that's .50 PER gallon.

May be, it's been awhile and I've never picked up more than ten gallons. If so then I've been using the wrong figures to placate the wife about spending money on the RODI unit. Pays for itself in a short while.

You know what, you're right. I remember there being a 250 somewhere in the conversation... guess that was per bucket. :)

It sure does! Pay for itself, I would guess within the first year depending on the size system you have.

at times i wonder if it does... i mean my BFS cost 270 shipped so im wondering how much water i have to make in order for it to be worth it ...
but then you have to include how much more water you use/waste

the only nice part is that i dont have to drive any were when i need water

So now you can also calculate the savings in gas and your time.

IMO..it should pay for itself in a year or less...at least in my case...alot of tanks...alot of water....once my move is complete I will be installing one here...

Yep. It's more about the time saved for me. Not to mention, not having to lug water jugs around. It's worth quite a bit to me, just to be able to walk out in the garage and get water... or deliver it to Rob's house... LOL J/K

I actually prefer the "TXAV8R drop off service" over buying a unit or tracking around town with jugs!! :P

Pretty cheap too...just a frag here and there. :P :P :P

Shoot I may want to start up a delivery service to your house.

I was thinking about rigging my waste line out to the yard to fill a rain bucket tied to a soaker hose. Not sure if the pressure in the barrel will allow the hose to soak, but I can think of better use for that water than sending it back into the system.

RODI for the reef, waste for the grass... win win all around!

If you need a hand with your set up or RODI, and if it's on a weekend, let me know and I'd be happy to help out.

WHAT??!!! Now I have competition on delivering free RO/DI? LOL

I have an Icemaker in the Garage that runs on RO/DI and the drain from that as well as the RO/DI unit waste line are routed to a bannana plant in the front yard. That is about the only green spot in my yard at this point.

You ain't kidding. I'm paying out the nose just to keep my front yard a sunny shade of green and yellow. About to give up the battle and just keep the trees watered (new trees that is). Back yard looks like one of those old western scenes, only need a tumbleweed to complete the image.

This is great, the competition will keep you straight! Better customer service when there is other business in town! Maybe next time you'll top off the tank for me :P instead of just leaving the jugs on the porch in the hot sun!!!! LMAO!

Been using the waste line to a large container (37g) and have a spigot on it. That way I can fill up 5g buckets and toss it on the yard. Its my way of keeping my yard a nice crispy yellow :)
