How wide is a VHO Bulb?

I am trying to figure out how to place the lights under the canopy and I am drawing a diagram to do so. So, how wide do I need to draw the VHO bulb? And if I lay 2 side by side, how much spacing do I need between them?

i know at aquarium design they have this acrylic holder that are about 1 1/4'' circle and about 3/4'' or less apart. not sure if that helps but incase it does.

does anyone have any 2' and 3' bulbs laying around that I can use to lay this thing out? I don't even care if they are working!

i got one, of course San marcos is kinda far for a bulb lol
if you cant find one just swing by HD and pick up a t-12 bulb for measurements.

Yep 2" is fairly standard.. less if you stagger them
