We have set up our 75gal tank (not RR) and the overflow is noisy. Is there anyway for us to make this not so loud?

to much flow .... this is what i was talking about with that other pump ... i had to keep a mag 5 on miine i want to try a 7 but yea

Try putting an elbow on the drain.

you got the pre filter sponge on there...mine did that and i got a overflow sponge at B&B for like 3.99...stoped the slurp for me

what type of over flow i am thinking its a cpr over flow but i know there are others. mine slurped bad i used the sponge and also a little poly filter in the back as an added prefilter around the sponge filter knocked the slurp right out.

replace the slotted standpipe in your overflow with a solid PVC pipe and place this at the top of it.. will be very quiet.
