Hey folks,

Here's the deal. About two weeks ago I took out 30 gallons from my system. My numbers were all very low at the time but I needed the gallonage to help fill my daughter's bio cube.

I have a hundred gallon display with a fifty gallon fuge. I replaced the water as I took it out, in five gallon doses (five out, five in, five out, five in). My numbers were good before, but now they are zero across the board.

Here's the issue (I can supply pics if it becomes necessary), I have two different types of paly's in my tank. A light purple, almost non-descript, paly that are heavily populated on two different rocks. The other is a brillliant green paly that I have on two rocks. About 12 on one, and three on another little rock.

The next day after the water change I noticed the paly's tentacles have curled up tight but the head of the palys are relatively open and still colorful. The bright greens have been reduced in their number, several appearing to have shrunk and withered away. The purple ones seem to be experiencing the same thing, only they actually don't appear to be circular any longer. Most anyway. And really only on one rock.

I have frogspawn, hairy frog mushroom things, bubble coral, birds nest, zoas of several differing descriptions, Kenya tree, misc mushrooms, two different caps (one green one brown), elegance coral, and something that looks like a bunch of purple zoas that recede into a rock dome thing with holes at night. All of these are doing superbly.

Just the paly's are touch and go. There also appears to be a lot of long spider strings caught in the paly's that I have recently introduced my turkey baster to.

What do you think? I had some zenias that were slowly going away, the water change finished that abruptly. They are all gone, but I kind of anticipated that for some time now.

I also have a sun coral and candy canes, both flourishing.

Could those strings/spiderwebs be coming from the BTA? I notice that when it moves it leaves something similar on the surrounding area.
