well i after the meeting i went and picked up a beautiful rose bubble from rocketeer. man i had been waiting for his anemone to split for awhile now, but it was well worth the wait.

his anemones are big, healthy and his tank is amazing!!!

so i after acclimating the anemone for about an hour and a half, i released it into my holding tank with my clown pair. they immediately began rolling around and showing love. so i thought i would turn the lights out early and let it rest and take pics in the morning.

then, this morning i wake up to find my anemone splitting!!!

i now have 2 5" rbta's. man, i was like "yahtzee!!!"

ok, enough jibber jabber, on to the pics...

sorry for the crummy pics. i was half-asleep and all excited. and for size reference the camera hog is my beloved 'Bertha', a 5 inch mated GSM. i will get a better pic of them totally seperated after i clean the glass and move my algae box.

Hmm. Kinda cool, but...

Your clowns may end up killing your RBTAs. I'm guessing they beat it up, stressed it out, and that's why it split.

no i don't think that is the case. because rocketeers anemones have been splitting like crazy for the last couple of months. in fact the anemone he had split then split again before i could get up there to pick it up. and rocketeer and i noticed that foot was puckering up yesterday after the meeting. so we kind of had an idea, but it was still a great surprise. my thinking is that is was wanting to split, but then the trip out of it's home tank, a 2 1/2 hour drive to corpus, then acclimation to my tank did it.

and funny thing, now the two anemone's are huddled tightly down on the glass by the sandbed. they look like a big single anemone again.

I must agree with Aggman on this one. Rocketeer's anemone's are very healthy and great size. We purchased one of his as well and it is doing great. We have 3 clowns hosting in ours and its growing like a weed! :) Congrats Aggman..

GSM's are very large clowns and have been know to beat BTAs to death trying to host in them, is what I think Bill was trying to say. Nice looking colors on the BTAs though good luck with them.

Got you on the list Dee. You're probably about three months out though.

My kid asked if I have ever been stung by an anemone. I said I haven't noticeably, but some people do. He said "Dad's a clownfish." My wife said that should be mt new handle.

Thanks!!!!! No problem...I can wait!

Funny!

I've gotten stung...only feel it and makes a mark when it gets me on the back side of my hand. I get little bumps like I do if a fire ant gets me.
