Skimmer Mod

I have a recirculating type skimmer which is supplied by a separate feed pump. Would like to ditch the feed pump and plumb it to a feed directly from the overflow. Does anyone see a problem with this modification?

It should work fine. The only negative I've ever read about is a guy whose overflow rate came in waves.
