No idea, but I'd like some! That's nice. It kind of reminds me of Candy Cane.

Picked up this piece from Clone today and was thinking possibly favites also as I had one before. I'll see if it has any sweeper tenticles at night light a chia coral.

It sure is purdy! I am curious how long the sweepers will be. All of my favias have fairly short sweepers.I had a maze brain once that had crazy long 8-12 inch sweepers!!

Favia and favite are two different things, FYI

THats a favites pentagona. It is considered aggresive. You might want to keep it away from sps or any other less aggresive corals. Its a very nice piece. Normally they have an eye on the center though.

By the way, some of the nicest favites pentagona are known as War Corals. They tend to be expensive, especially the red kind with green eyes. Great score

I'm not sure that I agree AT ALL with any of the above Cliff. I think it needs to be in my tank for some more direct observation before anyone can commit to what it is. Anything other than that is, in my mind, just pure speculation.

Seriously, nice snag. Wonder if my angel would eat it. Probably.

Try googling favites pentagona on the images section, you'll see the different kinds.

Found another one here, does it closely resemble to what yours looks like, with the exception of color of course?

I had a really nice piece of Favites Pentagona before in an old tank about the size of a softball. It was the red/maroon with very green eyes in the middle. That thing had sweepers that would come out anywhere from two to three inches. This thing has no eye in the middle like that so that's what has me confused. The closest thing I could find Googling it was a red Favia.

This was the closes thing I found to it so far.

Thats a platygyra, which happens to be one of my favorites. If you notice, the platy doesnt have rings, its like a maze and the lines dont connect as much. From the pic that i saw in the first page, the lines kind of form circles. I dont know its tought to tell.
