My cheapo odyssea light finally gave out. I decided to break it apart and try to salvage what I could. I was wondering how I can keep the LED's. They were wired to a terminal strip along with 2 ballast for pc bulbs. Is there a way I can wire these lights to a plug and get them to work? What size plug would I need?

The plug is not a big deal. The power supply to run them is what you need to worry about. Most LED's are 3, 5 or 12 volt. if you run too many volts thru them it will burn them out. These were probably running off a small power supply in the light or a transformer. You can measure the voltage from thet and go from there. If you want to come by the airport I will get you set up and working.

Part of the guts of the odyssea was a small transformer that has "12v +5v,120v 60hz" stamped on it. Does this mean I could wire it to a 12vdc 300ma adapter from radio shack?

depends if it used the 12v or the 5v leg of the transformer. Is the transformer still good? I'd use it, just put it in a box or some kind o enclosure. If the lights are 12v you could use the radishack power supply. LED's are diodes so they are polarity specific. You can't hook them up backwards or they won't work. It will also change the voltage consuption if you hook them up in series. See if you can get the specs on the LEDs from the manufacture. PM me if you want to talk more in depth
