This will be my pic diary. Tank been running for a couple of months.

So I found this on CL and showed it to Emily, so we bought it. She paid the majority of it for my christmas present, which is awesome! :D It's a 24g aquapod with 30lbs lr and 15-20 lbs of black ls. I added about 15-20 more lbs of lr to it too. They also threw in a skunk shrimp and I found a frag plug with some reverse gorilla nipples in the sand :D , this will be my third sw tank. I plan on breaking my frag tank down though, and put all my time and effort into this one and my awesom 8g biocube, whose thread is here

I plan on putting a picasso pair and and maybe a wrasse and some gobies. I'm also looking into getting a harlequin shrimp pair, Im not sure if Im ready to be that focused on shrimp right now. Im trying to focus on getting as much and as many different types of coral as possible.
The tank should be cycled, I tryed to keep the die off as low as possible, and I took all the water that was previously in it, they had always gotten their ro water from their lfs. So, my tank should be cycled. Im going to wait a couple weeks before I put anything in though.
Anyways, Im starting this thread to track the progress of my tank. Everyone enjoy.
Dont mind the kittens, I couldnt keep them out of the pics :)

So I fed my tank a little bit ago, and I was getting lost at looking at all my prettys, when out of the corner of my eye I saw movement on the new mushroom rock in the hair algae... I glanced at it and saw what I thought to be a little star. WELL, I stuck my hand in there to get it out of the algae, and it darted really quick into a whole underneath the algae. As you all know, stars dont dart. It freaked me out, so I got my baster and tryed to push whatever it was out of the hole. There are a hella lot of tunnels and holes in this rock so whatever it was got away. Well not even ten minutes later I look over (the tank is right up next to my couch) and saw a tiny little CRAB!!! Its solid white, and hairy looking. Tiny, about the size of a dime. I reached for my camera, stuck in the drawer right underneath the tank, and it darted for the hole again. These were the pics I was able to get of the tiny part of himself he was showing.

Ummm... not to make you UNhappity, but you do realize that a hairy crab = bad crab, right?

Do a search on "hairy crab."

Im not worried about it, its an emerald crab. It came in a rock from an established reef tank that had alot of emerald crabs in it. Its not all hairy, just its legs and not alot, somewhat like what you would see on a coral banded shrimp.
