I initially was going with the 150W sunpod for my new Solana, but after some research and a few recomendations by other members I think I will go with a 250W MH. I was wondering if anyone has any advice about a cheaper, but good quality, 250 MH Light, or maybe has one they would be willing to part with

Do you have a chiller on your 30, or does your temp. do alright regulating itself?

well my insomnia is kicking in, so I decided to come and sit on the computer for a little while. BIG mistake. In my sleepless haze I checked out hellolights.com and came across a light that seems like a good deal to me. Aqua Medic's Ocean Light 250W HQI with a phoenix 14k for 279.00 plus a free $50 dollar gift certificate. I did a lot of research on the 'net and heard nothing but positive reviews on this particular fixture, but since I am still new to the MH I want to run this by the club and make sure I did not just make a huge mistake. Please let me know anything that anyone knows about this light. This is why I am not supposed to be on the computer at 3AM...LOL, spend way to much money. Thanks for the help.

Here is the link if anyone wants to check this out further.

I have been considering doing mh's, but on a smaller tank. There is a diy project where you can make a chiller for a lot less than buying one for 5 or 600.00.

I was going to wait to see what I could find on the forum, but I already have the tank started and I have no idea how long it will take me to find a good deal. Also, more than likely whatever I find on here will need a new bulb, which will run around $60, and with the package I bought I got $50 gift certificate, which I could always use so it's more like I paid $229. Finally, I bought brand new so I know the equipment will be reliable, and if for some reason it is not I have a warranty to fall back on. That is just my reasoning for buying new, but maybe I am just trying to convince myself it was a good deal. :)
