Where can I find white or black egg crate in S.A.? I went to home depot and they only had the silver stuff. Does anyone have any for sale? I need a piece about 1' x 1.5'.
I need some magnets that are reef safe. I have a small frag rack in my tank now that has small neodymium magnets and I want some to make a new frag rack for my tank. Instead of building a new tank just for frags I decided to use the end of the tank for a two tier frag mount instead. The lights don't go over the end where the frags are. I'm not sure if they would receive enough light. I will update later with a picture of the lights.

EDITED*
Here is the picture of my lighting problem. As you can see the light is 6" to the left of the frags. It looks like they would get more light by being placed lower in the tank. I can see two options. First is to switch my bulbs from 4' to 5', however my bulbs are relatively new and I don't want to change them so fast. The other option would be to add 2 x 2' bulbs along the edge of the canopy, above the frag rack. Do you think the second option would change the look of my lighting?

At HD, you have to LOOK for the eggcrate. If it's not in lighting, try the LAST aisle - where the concrete is.

I only found the silver stuff in the lighting department. They only had shelf tags listing the silver variety. I never thought to look where the concrete is. I'll try Lowes tomorrow.

In the lighting section, ask for flourescent 'diffusers', that should ring a bell.

you have to ask for light diffuser they will not recognize it by egg crate. they will think your talking about the actual egg crate from the 2 1/2 dozen eggs.

I paint mine black with Krylon Fusion. Also, old mag floats work well. Just attach the egg crate with a little epoxy putty and you're done.

What kind of epoxy putty is that? Is that the kind used for frags?

Id also recommend painting the white eggcrate with Black Krlon Fusion. So you know Lowes and HD do not sale krylon fusion (well at least the ones ive been to) I always buy it a my local walmart who actually has a good selection. Hobby lobby also sales it.

Yep, same stuff. I just painted over it after it cured. I've had the little rack in my tank for a few months now without any issues.

My frag rack was made from a flat piece of acrylic with holes for the plugs drilled into it. It is easy to scrape clean with a razor blade if it ever gets crud on it.
