Okay, here goes (be nice!!) In the next few months I will be setting up my 90g and I am starting to get my fish list together! I REALLY want to have a small hippo tang and a yellow tang. What do you guys think..tank big enough?

LOL, You know the answer to this and thats why you called it the Dreaded Tang Question. Its fine for a little while obviulsy not long term. Id say once they reach 4"-5" its time to move them into a 6ft tank. What it comes down to is simple; tangs cover good distances in the wild on the reef so in the home aquarium its best to go as large/long as possible.

Well, that depends upon how much you think your tang will be worth then. In my case, it was one of the reasons to jump from 55 to 215. It was ONE EXPENSIVE TANG.

AHH!! Can I just jump up and down and scream now??!! I really wanted a hippo Tang but I can't imagine getting one and then having to "rehome" it after it gets big. Since 90g is about as big as my house and budget can handle I may just have to settle for 2 yellow tangs. Any other cool fish ideas? In my 29g BC I have 2 clowns, a watchman and a 6 line so I'm wanting to fill my 90g with some different fish. I was also thinking about a small school of cardinals.

Just get a small yellow and a small blue. When its time to get the blue a bigger tank, I'm sure you won't have any problems finding him a good home.

I get so attached to those darn animals that I would have a hard time giving him up. I'll have to think on it somemore!
