Need some advice on building an aluminum light frame.

Saw some Al angle iron at Home Depot and wondered if the 1"X1" size is recommended? I was thinking about suspending the whole thing on a ceiling mounted bike lift.

I'm drawing up designs right now for 2X 250W HQI w/either 4X48" VHO or T5's mounted on a frame. I'd appreciate any of y'alls advice or tips on design or materials before I sink more $$$ into this project.

Yup, I've done it. Works great. Hacksaw or jigsaw with a metal blade makes good cuts in the Al. You can always add the brackets if you are not happy with the rigidity. If you use diy reflectors you can rivet them to the light rack otherwise small nuts and bolts will work fine. Just plan ahead so you don't buy more Al than you need. It can get expensive.

Bike lift kits are like $9 on Ebay. You cane get them for that at Harlem Fright when on sale. Sounds like a good plan.
