I would like to try (2) of these kits along with (2) 110 vhos over a 90G inside an Oceanic canopy. Has anyone tried these reflectors? Its from aqaucave and called IceCap 250W Double Ended HQI Metal Halide Retro KitLT-IC-250HQI-RK $229.95

I don't think you can go wrong with IceCap products. Should work pretty good. If you get a ballast for the VHO's, go with the IceCap 660.

I think that would be a smoking setup over a 90g. I love IceCap ballasts, both Halides and VHO.

I had that same reflector over my 135 (three of them) before I broke it down, I was just running them on the Hellolight ARO elect ballast instead. They have the same kit with the ARO ballast for $142.95 minus the bulb, but you can choose your bulb on the same page.

Wow, thats a good price for the combo! I really like the Icecaps, but cost wise, I may go with the Aro MH ballast, which is what I have running (4) 110 T12VHOs right now. I'm concerned that it may be too much light. (2)x250=500w, (2)x110=220, 720w/90G=8w per gallon. tank is 24 inches tall, so I think it will be ok, but it would be nice to have y'alls input.

The ARO setup is a good ballast too, but that price is without the lamp and looks like the aquacave price is with the lamp. The 14kk Phoenix is $60 at hellolights.com which will save you $26 for the entire deal so that leaves you pretty close to breaking even. All things considered I'd pay a few bucks more and get the IceCap ballast.

That is the exact set up I'm using, 2x icecap with those reflectors. I've been more than happy with them on my 75g.
