What are some great schooling fish that are reef safe and dont get to big?

I would recommend green chromis or bluegreen chromis, a school of 3 would be the minimum to see normal behavior, though I would recommend 6. They're schooling, nonaggressive, and they don't get too big. Don't be fooled by blue reef chromis. Unless you have a very large tank you'll quickly go from a school to one fish; they're much more aggressive. They also get quite a bit larger, about 5.5" when fully grown.

even though chromis are non-aggressive they will kill each other if they dont like someone in the group. i had 3 green chromis and they killed off the third because it woudlnt school with them, that or they thought that the perfect number was 2

i just got four n 1 was a lot smaller than the rest. well no longer have the runt

I have five blue green chromis, and they have remained five for almost 2 years.
