Heya I'm getting some equipment rounded up. I've decided on the Octopus Needlewheel 150 protein skimmer. The other item I have been working on saving for is a calcium reactor. I have the cash for a 150 or so dollar one. But I don't believe it is going to be a quality one. What has the best bang for the buck when it comes to a reactor. I can afford a co2 tank and a 100 or so dollar regulator. Give me some advise please, if you've used it and it works well that advise would be best haha :) Anyway I have this 55 gallon tank but in the future I intend to upgrade it to a 120 gallon. Thanks!

To be honest with you, I would keep saving a little more. Also this is an area I think you could buy good used equipment. It is fairly simplistic hardy equipment and I think used is fine. Keep looking here, but reactors are for sale a lot on Reef Central also. In general for a complete setup (used) of a good quality setup would pay between $300-500. Personally, I like the GEO. I have a Geo 612 on my new 115gal it is very easy to setup and use. I have a custom 5" dia x 20" tall on my 214gal that was made by the LFS that built the aquarium that I have been thinking about upgrading to a GEO or Deltec I would sell for $150 without the tank and regulator.

I just noticed that GEO is making this reactor again, might be a good choice:

I second the Geo. Mine works great.
