GSP's coming back?!!

My GSP's are starting to come back I think. Not sure what got them so upset but I'm sure glad to see them starting to open again....

i used to have a huge rock of them that would close up for a few days at a time, just like yours did. never figured out what caused it, but they always opened back up. they would do it three or four times a year.

I have a gsp rock that has closed up for about a week now. Not sure what made them mad but hope they come back. Everything else opens up fine

If we're going to discuss the behavior of GSP, I have a small field of it that closes up every night at feeding time. Happens at nearly the same time each night. It will usually open again, fully, before the lights go out and then close up again.

I used to have a colony that was sensitive to drops in alkalinity. If I missed a few doses and the alk fell below about 7 dkH or so, then the colony wouldn't open up. I'm not sure if it was the alk itself or perhaps the wider pH swings the lower alk probably allowed that was the trigger, but you might check your alk level and see if yours might be reacting the way mine did.
