Which brand? For awhile the 20k XM's were very popular, but I think they tended to be a bit more blue in color than some people liked.

I had the 20k SPS and did not like them. I had borrowed a phoenix 14k, and it was nice. I ultimately settled on XM 20k's. I like them...

I am currently running 3 400 watt 20k XMs, and I love them. However they are best run on M59 ballasts. According to Sanjay they have a PPFD of 128, gotta love XMs for magnetic ballasts. Compared to a 12k Reeflux at 96 PPFD or an SPS 20K at 55 PPFD. HTH

Ah, I was cornfused. Didn't know you can grow your SPS corals with a bulb for SPS coral spectrum made by the SPS company. :confused::ph34r:
