New to me!!!

Ok so i just got a new tang in my 90 gallon tank! He is the only tang in this tank! I have had a cleaner shrimp in this tank for a couple months! So i get the tang out of the bag after acclimating him and he swim into the corner and chills for about 2 mins. Then he startes to check out the rest of the tank. Then he discovers the cleaner shrimp!!!!:) He has not left him alone since!!! Now the part that is new to me! He swims in and out of the cleaner shrimps station, but every time he does he changes colors! He doesnt even look like the same fish! He evn acts like he is almost dead when he gets to the shrimp! Check out the picks and tell me what you think!!!! I was told he is a chocolate tang but he looks like a LT. tang to me!

i'd say it's a chocolate, or yellow mimic, tang. all tangs change color to a certain degree, but i have never seen such a drastic change. awesome purchase!!

wow that literaly just happened with my unicorn tang like 2 days ago..but it was with a hermit crab..it even layed flat on top of it...played dead... picked at it for a little then went away...at first i thought the tang wanted to be cleaned..but there were no parasites...very interesting

Well he seems to have bonded with the cleaner shrimp! He swims around for a few mins. then he goes back to the shrimp and turns colors, The shrimp jumps on and goes to town! I guess this is good! Ive seen cleaner shrimp clean fish before, but never seen them clean the same fish every 10mins!

Beautiful fish, now i wish we'd bought a longer tank instead of a cube. No tangs for us yet :(

You will buy a bigger one! Everyone does!! Its very addicting! My wife and I are getting ready to buy another tank for our bedroom! She wants the "pretty fish" that eat my corals!:) So we are thinking about a 75 gallon!

My guess is he changes colors so the shrimp thinks he has a new customer. Kinda like when you find a house that gives really good Halloween candy, and you change costume a few times to pay more visits :wink_smile:
