i was given a nice rock with many many exenia on it. idk what kind it is, its not a "snapping" or watever that type that moves. ever since its been in theres been some stange strigy like algea growing everwhere. and this strange red film algea on my glass. i know its not corraline. and my exenia started looking bad. then all my other corals closed up(star polyps, easy stuff liek that) so after about 2 weeks of this, i just took the exenia out, for fear that it was realesing toxins into my water. and i smelt it when i took it out and it had a very strong nasty smell that burned my nose.
ya'll think it was the exenia?
all my levels are the same as theve been for months

Correct spelling is Xenia. Just thought I would share that. Also FYI, people have been known to have allergic reactions to Xenia. Itching, hives and the such. Most of the time, the reaction can be handled with antihistamines.
