wish me luck. i got it at a great price for only 360 shipped and its brand new. i think it was so cheap because the guy was doing a group buy and over 20 people were purchasing the pumps from the supplier

Is it a Gen 2? If not $10 plus shipping up and back for the upgrade. Make sure you get a foam cover.

Great price, these are awesome. I personally don't care for the foam covers as they require too frequent cleaning's for my taste. Are these the WWD's version or are they new "original's"??

Cheers,

i got the Vortech and i like it, enough to want to get another in the future. i know some of you saw the video i posted where the guy had nothing but nems in his tank, and want to do something similar in the future. it pushes a ton of water but at the same time the water flow is dispersed. kind of like having a giant koralia but being able to control the speed and set modes and other cool stuff with it. the fish had loved the short pulse mode

my goal is to try and replicate what you would see in the ocean where things just sway back and forth. was thinking of adding BTAs and some other corals and throw in a carpet anemone (haddoni) at the bottom, but im worried itll eat all the fish

OKOK i went overboard and purchased a 2nd vortech pump! these things are BADD. i love being able to control the output, putting it in feed mode, night mode, changing it up for the livestock, etc. right now theyre in Antisync mode, basically meaning that the slave pump will do the opposite of what the master pump does. so when the master is going fast, the slave will go slow. you can also sync them so they both do the exact same thing

i know its no wavebox since the tunze has good ones for all sizes of tanks, but im satisfied with it on my tank. ill show you vids of the waves. my wrasse is freaked out about the new pump. the second video was when it was adjusting, but i would think that the large overflow box has something to do with it, as well with the vortech being a broad flow type of pump

haha solid, i still havent seen that movie! was it funny?

joel, i didnt go with a wavebox because right now theyre kind of big for a 75g. i really didnt want a long box in the middle of one of the glass panes just to make waves. if i had a larger tank i would have gone with the wavebox or made my own by buying a used tunze 6100

i think what gets in the way is the return lines and flow from the mag 9.5, the live rock, and the overflowbox. i just like having all the options available to me and controlling the flow instead of having to purchase a pump everytime i dont like it
