I know that 10k's are the way to go for maximum growth but I went with 14k's. Has anyone here had good growth rates for SPS on this type of bulb?

The higher you go Kelvin wise, the more you'll be sacrificing growth for color. Many people here use different brands of 14k bulbs, Pkoenix being one of the more popular. If you want great growth, the Iwasaki 6.5 k bulb would do the trick but theyre butt ugly unless you hammer them with tons of actinic. 14k seems to be a comprimise between good growth and color, its really up to the persons interpretation.

I agree. I started with 10000K but made the compromise and later switched, after input, to 14000K. I have been happy with them.

i use phoenix 14k and been good growth for most my sps. the color is ok, id probably use heavier actinics next time since to me it runs a little too white for me. some of them are growing slow, but i imagine because i have them all at the bottom of my tank instead of higher up, but for the ones growing well theyve grown into mini colonies

Reeflux makes a 12k mogul bulb that's supposed to be awesome.
