Does anyone have any experience or feedback with either of these fixtures would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone has feedback or experience with T5HO's that would help also. I am worried these may not be good enough for SPS/LPS.

You might have some luck with either option although for the money your going to spend with one of these hoods i would just do i 6x54w retro using icecap reflectors/traid ballasts andati bulbs. i spent about 400 for mine. bought it at reefgeek.com.

cheers,

kurt

I have the 4 bulb 48" setup from here, same company just a different fixture that is made to be hung, but i modified mine for in canopy. It works good for me. It all depends on what you are trying to spend.

That TEK light is supposed to be pretty sweet. You will be able to keep some sps, just not to deep in the tank.

I am still new at this, so please forgive the question. When you say do a retro, that is installed in a tank hood? or, retro into anothe fixture shell?

Thanks, I will research this site! You have the 4-bulb, what size is your tank? Do you keep SPS?

Thanks, that is exactly the feedback I am looking for.

I would go with either the TEK or aquactinics fixture. reefgeek.com has them so you can see what they are. The Aquactinincs comes with the icecap individual reflectors, and the Tek comes with Tek reflectors. Go with 6 bulbs if they will fit your tank.

spend the money on the aquatintics 5 bulb or go with the icecap reflectors/triad ballasts. with 6 ati bulbs using icecap reflectors i can keep sps on the sand bed (18").

hope this helps.
