Uh, without mentioning anything by name...

Salifert, and only Salifert. I don't think I need to explain. And no, price doesn't matter.

What fish store in san antonio carry this SALIFERT? or would it have to be an internet order?

I believe Salifert are the best home kits.
The key with any home kit is actually using it on a regular basis.
I also send monthly specimens from each of my tanks to www.awt.com (http://www.awt.com)
Consistency and making slow changes, as you know, is the key. Sometimes hard to do.
For a look at a, mostly scientific, review of many test kits try this:

hope the link works.

Salifert, each test varies in price because it is not sold as a kit. Hands down the best for testing....

Once you get used to it just put a couple drops on your tongue and you can tell if anything's off in the parameters.

I am assuming Joshua was kidding, but I used to make jokes that Jason at A.D. could do that... :)

I prefer Elos kits. While a little more expensive, I think they are more accurate. They are NIST(?) checked/calibrated.

I use both API and Salifert and Seachem Iodine. IMO, NO3 and Magnesium, maybe PO are the ones you need to spend the big money on.

Why's everyone always assume I'm joking? ;) Yeah kidding about that, but to be honest I haven't owned anything other than a calcium and alk kit (salifert) for probably 6 years, everything else I think are worthless and the critters will tell you if something is off.
