ok yall said not to get a berlin classic hang on... so ive been reading about the red sea prizm skimmer, any of yall used this one? its very hard to find a skimmer that fits on my tank because of the brand and the way its made. this is one of the very few that will fit my tank(well i hope so).tell me if its a bad one or a good one :)
thanks

bad one. :) Get an octopus skimmer, inexpensive and will save you some cash.

proven hang on skimmers:
deltec mce600
deltec mce300
remora pro
cpr bakpak
those would be my top 4, in order and probly also from highest priced to cheapest. from what i see the octopus and the cpr are one in the same so if you buy new, get the octopus and save a buck but you can find a used bakpak for less than 50 bones if you look hard enough and the remora isnt much more

I agree with Tony...
Scratch the Prizm idea and save up for a cpr or remora pro.

Does your tank currently have a skimmer? If not, then yes, the prizm or belin classic HOT are a good addition for your tank. Anything, short of a Skilter or VisiJet, would benefit your system vs. nothing at all.
But, if you stay w/the hobby and keep more demanding corals and fish, then you'll regret either of those skimmers.
Your last thread mentioned the RedSea Berlin. That's around $185 for the berlin venturi. The AquaC Remora Pro w/Rio pump costs $214. Patience young grasshopper. Trust and save the few extra $$ to get a better skimmer.

I've had good luck with my bakpak on my 55 since I modded it (see their website).
