View Full Version : Environmental Systems Class fish sale

hobogato
Mon, 5th May 2008, 11:24 AM
It is time for my Environmental Systems students to find new homes for their fish. They are only trying to get back some of the money they spent on their fish and would really prefer that they go to good homes instead of back to a fish store (they are selling many of them for about half of what they paid, so if you would like to offer more, I am sure they would appreciate it). Please do not buy these fish just to resell them later for a profit. Below are the fish that are available and the price the students are asking. Since I am just a middle man for the students, it will have to be cash only and exact amount only – it will be much easier for me to pass that money straight back to the students. They are divided up by tank name (in blue)

Hey Ace im interested in Xehlas Coral Beauty $10. My tank may not be ready for corals but im ok for fish. Do you know if its a coral nipper? Also the Zambee Cinnamon Clownfish $5. I could use the fish waste to get this skimmer dialed.

How long would we have to pick them up?

there are four weeks left in the school year, so what has not sold in a couple of weeks will be taken to the lfs.

do these guys still need donations? (frags)

there is lots of space for frags in many of the tanks - donated corals stay with the classroom they will not be sold.

Ace -
I live right down the road here by 1604/Judson. I'd be interested in the Marble Sea Star from the Dead Sea tank. Like the cleaner shrimp from the Bermuda tank as well, but someone was already asking for it. Let us know about Wednesday and I can maybe swing by after work on my way to pick up my son from day care. Thanks.

RayAllen
Mon, 5th May 2008, 03:34 PM
Ace do you go to the school on the weekends for any reason? My work schedule 8-5 M-F. If weekends do not work scratch me off and someone else can jump on the great deals.

hobogato
Mon, 5th May 2008, 03:55 PM
i can probably be available saturday morning for people to come pick up then as well. once i get a schedule, i will post it.

Mon, 5th May 2008, 05:47 PM
Wow, did you open a can of worms. LOL
I am interested in the Dragon Goby, Chromis, Watchman Goby, Neon Blue and/or Neon Gild Goby, Blenny, Bicolor Pseudochromis and Yellow Tang. I'm sure some are already spoken for. I can bring cash by in the morning.

hobogato
Mon, 5th May 2008, 05:55 PM
ok, just so we are all on the same page here..... nothing is spoken for or on hold. when something is paid for, i will take it off of the list. the first day for anyone to pick up fish will be wednesday. not trying to be mean or short, just wanted to make sure everyone understood the way i have to do this to keep it fair. there are still a few tanks that need me to add their fish to the list, so keep checking that first post to see what else is available.

leliataylor
Mon, 5th May 2008, 06:14 PM
Understood. Just let me know when and where and I can pickup the tang and clown. I want to be first in line for these two. My grand daughter will love them. We are setting up a Nemo tank for her/reef tank for my son. They will be a great addition to the zoas, shrooms, ricordia and nepthea already in the tank. Her high chair sits next to the tank and she loves watching it. If another Oscellaris clown becomes available I will take it as well.

If next year any of your students are interested in trying their hand with a couple of juvi seahorses let me know. Free donation, not to be sold. I could take them back at the end of the school year.

Hey Ace, is this going to become an annual occurance? I hope it does, not only because we can get great deals on great fish, but (more importantly) we can help young people recoup some of the cost of the fish. I for one am a very satisfied "patron."
