I sow these on a listing in the for sale page, and I BigKGlen informed me of their function. I then went out and read on these things and people say they are bad for your return pump. Has anyone had bad experiences with these things? They seem like a very inconspicuous resolution to waterflow.

They work great if you use a pressure rated pump.

Mags are not pressure rated pumps.

Yes, a good pressure rated pump will be needed to achieve a decent amount of flow through the penductors, otherwise your pump will dead head with all the back pressure. It will also shorten the life of the non-pressure rated pump. TexasTodd had (I think) 4 of them on his old system and he said they worked great. So about 9 months ago I put 4 on my return line. They were the 3/4" Pacific Coast Flow Accelerator Loc-Line type which cost about $22 each, shipped. Well, Oh my god was that a ridiculous amount of turbulence. Great for a Sand-less SPS only tank, but not for my sugar sized DSB. So I took 2 out and used an in-line LocLine Valve to control the flow through my penductors which made for a better configuration. Check the picture for my setup. I have 2 of these setups mirrored on either side of overflow box for the last 8 months and I really like the "adjustable" flow increase. I Hope that Helps.

Any Pressure Rated Pump. I'm running them on a Blue Line HD-55 pump. It's a pressure rated pump. It starts out at 1100GPH with 0 Head Pressure.
Also Did my picture help anyone?
