ok, well i had a guy come round measure my stand and do me a custom sump <sigh> the briefing was i wanted as big a fuge area as i could have... currently i have a rubbermaid with a return going into it from my skimmer via a bulkhead and two overflow pipes coming from the tank... then 2 pumps for the return.....
he felt a 75g tank would fit, which is what i was interested in and agreed 7-10 days... 6 weeks later i asked for my money back, and then he brought it the following weekend, after 2 previous weekends it was being delivered... he came 3 hourslate and i was out, but the mrs was here..originally hed agreed to put it in himself, but left it next to the tank, so i disassembled the rubbermaid, and then tried to fit it... the sump wouldnt fit properly without sawing a part of the supporting leg and the hoses werent long enough for the way the sump was meant to go, so then had to turn it around... i test ran it with the skimmer outside the stand, which promptly flooded everywhere as the bulhead was drilled just below the lip of the sump,... i have a pm and the water returning isnt under pressure...
it transpired the baffles were too high for me to drill the sump lower... anyway i stopped the check.... eventually my wife managed to get hold of him as he wasnt responding, and he agreed to get it and return my oney... he was meant to phone tues to give a time on wed or thurs... no call and no responses to being contacted, and he never turned up yesterday...
anyway to cut a long story short i replaced my rubbermaid and re-set it up...
sooo im now planning what to do...i decided to change my skimmer, im not keen on my pm and wanted a needlewheel, so have an octopus ddnw 150 on order (the shipment was stopped due to drugs in another container hence why there are delays on octopus' at the moment), i have ordered a reeflo snapper, so will get done with my 3 x mag 9.5 power monsters, will have the 2 overflows running through the octo, and my 2 returns going from the reeflo
now to plan what to do with my space underneath... i got a aquacontroller jr from kyle on here ...thanks kyle.. im going to have mangroves and macro (mangroves floating in polystyrene for ease)
my tank is a 175g, im more into fish but have sps, lps and softies in there... im planning what to do with my space... i'll add an auto-topoff...
anyway, dont know if i should dose with kalk in the auto-topoff water, add a kalk reactor or calcium reactor, tho the cost of the latter may push me over budget...any ideas?
but i definately want a decent sump/fuge in there...
anything else i should plan on putting under there, im forgetting about? any suggestions?
