I bought a kent hi-5 ro/di from someone for 100 dollars and replaced all the filters/membrane. He gave me a booster pump also. I got it all hooked up yesterday and the out put once it filled up is about 1 drop a second. Is this normal?

do you have a flush kit on it, they usually have a valve that yoiu can adjust the waste water vs product water,, this may be one issue,, another possibility is that you could have the ro hooked up backwards,, I would contact Russ at BuckeyeField Supply. he is great and can surely help

Not to sound harsh but from what I've heard Kent RO units are almost pointless. Way to expensive to replace cartridges, basically what can be said of almost everything sold by Kent.
You did not list the GPD expected from your unit. Believe me when I say this, most people expect almost instant results but yet it takes a very long time. Think of it this way, there are 24 hours in a day, not the 4 or 5 you aren't working. I've seen this misconception often when speaking of RO units. So let's look at an average 75GPD unit and figure out what it's average output should be.
75/24= 3.125G per hour. Yes a trickle. 3.125G/60minutes= a whopping 0.0521GPM. On average it would take almost 20 minutes to get one gallon.
1 Gallons (US) = 58368.02835 Drops
My calculations say you should see 2,918.41 drops per minute or 48.64 drops per second.
Checking our math in reverse, 48.64x60 seconds= 2918.4013 drops x 20 minutes=58368.026 drops or 1 gallon every 20 minutes. Therefore it can be said that you could make 3 gallons of water every hour x 24 hours in a day= 75GPD. Roughly 4,377,601.9 drops.
In summary if you are actually getting only one drop per second something would indeed be wrong. What is your discharge rate? It's a simple thing to calculate if you have 2x 5g buckets around. You should have about a 3:1 ratio of waste water to clean water. Your restricted orifice may be gone or out of adjustment diverting all of your water to the discharge side.
