I recently purchased an 8 gallon Bio Cube for my dwarf seahorses, but I'm having problems with it continually overheating to low 80's. Does anyone have any experience with the chillers recommended for this size tank. Good or bad
please let me know.
Thanks
David

what do you keep your house temp at? it has to be atleast 75 or lower also if you have extra pumps in there that will overheat it

House temp in this room has been running high because I have so many tanks in here. Too many high power lights. Trying to get an window unit put in the AC and that may solve the problem, just trying to learn from others experience.

as far as small chillers... JBJ Artica 1/20th, but the window AC unit is cheaper

If you dont want to deal with the evaporation problem of running a fan over the top of your water surface you could just blow a large fan across the front of the glass and it will lower the temp 1-3 degrees depending on room temp., lights etc. hope this helps

If you keep the small lid open all the time, it should drop the temp as well. It drops my temp a couple of degrees and gets me where I need to be.
