I was going to suggest the same thing. $100 is a great deal for a retrofit 250w MH.

how many watts per gallon should i be looking for to be able to put whatever i want in my tank?

Id say at least 6watts per gallon is good

if you have actinic on there, they do add to the WPG.

I was thinking that too. I have a dual t-5 actinic strip light that I think I could hang in a canopy.

I know. I was talking about adding it to the mh to make a higher watts per gallon.
