I'm happy to say that the 2 shrimp I bought 2 weeks ago are alive and well!! I was leary about getting them since I have a Hawkfish I can't catch that usually eats everything I put in that isn't larger or meaner. For the past couple days I've been catching glimpses of the Harlequin, but until tonight I feared the worst for the fire shrimp. but HE LIVES!!

LOL just ramblin!

We will keep our fingers crossed, but our two shrimp (big cleaner and big peppermint) lasted for a few months, until they were shrimp cocktail for our flame hawk and long nose hawk. The shrimp were the same size as the hawks, but were still dinner.

yeah I knew that may happen before I bought them, but my cleaner and coral banded have been in there since the dawn of time with no probs. It seems that if something avoids him long enough he gets accustomed to them and leaves them alone. I quit buying gobies until I can spear/net/trap or NUKE his tailfeathers! Expensive (hawk)fish food

I have had 2 cleaners for over a year with my hawk, and I've had 2 harlequins for over 6 months. All left alone.

Sorry for the picture quality, but it was in a cave between the rock. Well it seems my harlequin wasted NO time finding mt double star starfish. Hopefully it doesn't get too full before it gets the asterinas taken care of.

Oh yeah, I have a question! They don't eat brittle or serpent stars do they? or do they?

Thanks

Mine don't eat the tiny serpent stars.

Oh, and Rob? I'd remove that star. It likely won't move on to your asternias until that one's gone...

No they don't eat brittle or serpants. My serpant star would go right to my Harlequin and try to get some of the chocolate chip star from them.

Thanks erebus, I was kinda thinking they wouldn't, just checking before it to my serpent star

bstreep - well judging by the looks of the star that won't take but a few days, it ate 1 arm while I was at work today and was sitting on top of it.

I was wondering if I took the star from it would it live? would it groww it's arm back?

Thanks

I TRY and recycle my CC stars. Let them eat a leg, then toss it in my sump. But, now they seem to know this and first thing they do is drag it into a cave where I can't get it.
