Hello everyone,

I have gotten back from Iraq, and have started stocking my SpS tank.

Tank Specs
58 Gal Oceanic with low led glass
MH 250 W 15K XM
PC all blue
UR 180 skimmer
1/4 HP chiller
Mag 9.5 return
cal Reactor
phos Reactor
2 Koralia Hydor 3's

Question is...

I want to get the most color out of my stuff. I have put
a few Bucks in coral in and want to keep the color they
have and help them as best i can. The tank has been
running about 6 mos, water is great, all Zeros..even Phos...woot..Cal
and Alk are right. so.....

What do yall does with, as far as trace stuff...Please let
me know, as i think i got everything else right.

Now don't get me wrong, i have not lost color but know
I can do more. The only thing im putting in my tank right
now is flake, baby brine, and reefchili. The Reactor has ARM Aragonite media.

So if you got great color and what to share how, Plz share here.

Thank you guys for any help.

I think I get a lot more color when I keep up with my Iodide or Lugol's solution thn when I let it slide a few months.

In my limited experience, I can say light has everything to do with it. Depth, and proximity to the light as well as light duration can drastically improve the coloration of the corals. Also, type of bulb, ballast, and actinic supplementation!

#1 by far is water quality. (high quality skimmer, ozone-low amounts or UV, CA Reactor or B-Ionic 1-2x daily, test, test, test)
Stable temp
Good lighting with VHO or T5 actinic in addition to your halides.
Good flow
Mike's definately on with Iodine.
I personally saw a bost when I added a calcium reactor.
A good food like Rod's or home made helps too.
Regular water changes of 30-50% monthly with RO/DI at or near 0ppm.
Use quality carbon for at least 3-5 days a month.
LUCK

Also, not to dog at all, but IME XM15kk's not the best bulb. If you want color look at Phoenix 14kk or Radium 20kk, or Reeflux 10kk on HQI balasts.
