Over the past 2 weeks or so I've had a huge influx of small snails in my 45g tank. They seem to only come out at night though and they cover the rockwork. I didn't have many snails in the tank before so I'm wondering if these somehow came in on a bunch of live rock I got from Henry? Hopefully these snails are not bad for the tank. I found 3 small ones few months ago that seemed to have been eating zoo's.
Anyone have a link that shows different types of good versus bad snails?

I have them to. Mine came from CB Pets LR. After a couple of weeks of putting some in my nano I have several tiny snails and NudiBranchs are spreadng like crazy. Ive seen no ill effects and its been 3 or so months now.

I had something similar in my tank ... hundreds of them on the glass when I woke up in the morning. They're gone now, but I never had any obvious problems from them.

Are all of yours about 1/8 to 1/4 inch in size? Kind of a round shell?

I've got a ton of them too. No harm no foul, so I will let them be.

Thanks Erik for the links. I was able to ID those snails I removed awhile back that were killing my zoos as Sundial snails. I'm thinking the snails I have now are the Collonista variety.

I just used the links too and I have the Collonista and they have never bothered anything.
