Would it be ok to use aquifer water in your tank. I have acess though the lab I work in. Or would DI water work better.

Thanks

I guess it depends on the TDS readings of the aquifer water. It is my understanding that the closer to zero ppm, the better.

you can use a TDS meter to check it, but remember that an electric TDS meter doesn't read everything. If it were me, I'd test it with the TDS meter, then run a water sample for ammonia, nitrate, GH, KH, and phosphates before putting it in my tank the first time. Also, remember that natural water sources when unfiltered are affected by rain runoffs, spills, pollution, etc. I have faith in RO/DI systems when maintained properly, so that would be your best bet for consistent quality water.

I am not going to use it to use it because i did test it it and it was not that different from my tap water.
