I think I am going to dig in our storage area and see if I have mine. I could easily do this! Ace, you should make an acrylic box for a housing and have one in your tank.

BRIAN YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY DO THIS. ::ahem, Mr. Computer in my reef room::

There was also a hard drive DIY there but the only thing I could see it being use for is a good way to keep it cool for some extreme gaming

I can see it now.... "All my fish died when I tried the DIY webcam in the Aquarium." USB transfers power, the webcams are not sealed completly, if you dont seal it right the usb will shock the hell out of your aquarium. If its grounded then maybe you will be fine but I can just see it now, someone will have an issue soon.

It may shock the aquarium, but it will be a low voltage DC current. I think a maxijet shorting out would do more than the USB camera would. And even when a maxijet goes wrong, the only person that gets zapped is me when I put my hand in the water. The fish and other occupants didn't seem to mind....
