Okay, I got a german typhoon skimmer that came with the tank and is running on a mag 5 pump. Now the mag 5 isn't producing the fine micro bubbles to skim more effectively. What and where can I get an internal pump that will do the job I need and give me micro bubbles but won't break the bank?

Panworld 40PX at Marine Center is $109, plus going with an external will keep some heat out of your sump. Maybe someone has one here on MAAST so you can try it before you buy?

I think I need something with a needle wheel. Any suggestions?

The sedra and the oceanrunner are both good needle wheel pumps.

From the picture that looks like a Venturi driven skimmer and not a needlewheel. The panworld recommendation is a good one along with Iwaki and in a stretch, Eheim.

It just took a little while to get tuned on it's own. I'm looking into getting a better skimmer soon.
