How big is the MH? I see it is 250w but how long are they? Im semi new to the MH scene so will these fit on a 30g ? Also about how much life would you suspect the bulbs have left? Let me know as I am looking for some lighting for my moms new 30g with crappy lights on it. Also, is the setup just plug and we are ready to roll? Would I mount this under a canopy with some fans or hang it from the ceiling... I would think the second would be best to keep the heat down.

it is just the ballast and the socket and bulbs, no reflector or pendant.. if you had a cheap reflector you could just mount it right inside the canopy you have,, the bulbs do have some life left but i don't know how old they are.,, anyone is welcome to come by and see the stuff in action

What brand is the metal halide ballast and what KElvin are the used bulbs with how much more life in it?

do not know about ballast brand,, it is a single enclosed ballast. lights look to be in the 10k range, but I do not know how old they are
