I am pretty excited. I had so many problems with this tank in April and May... and it really just sat for two months in my living room and garage, all the stuff spread out everywhere. The frustration of losing most of my fish (26 to be exact) to the stray voltage from a broken heater, to then having my tank spring a leak a few weeks later and to come home to a tank where most of my corals were lost because they were out of water and my halides fried them, took its toll.

BUT, a new leaf it turning.

I haven't been taking pictures of the process. Sorry. I will get some pics up tommorrow.

I have found new respect for plumbers. PVC is not so easy to work with. I plumbed most of my tank on my own. This was a huge accomplishment for me. I couldnt figure out legos when I was a kid. Its not the prettiest but I am happy how it came out for the most part. I learned alot from it and next time will be that much better.

I got a new sump from Ace, as well as I picked up the kalk/calcium reactors he built, added a euro-reef CS8-3, went to an external iwaki pump, adding 2 reactors that will run phosban and carbon, and a few other upgrades. ^_^

I just finished plumbing the last return pipe a little bit ago. Will try to get pictures tommorrow. I started adding water yesteday and figure I added about 50 gallons today. Only maybe 150 or so to go. I will hopefully move sand and rock from their 100 gallon holding tank thats been sitting on the middle of my living room on Friday! The fish that I have left will be so happy to get out of the 40 gallon breeder that has been sitting on the floor for months. I dont know what they will think seeing people watch them again instead of just feet walking by.

Will try to get pics added tommorrow.

Ok, skimmer pump not working. The pump should be a little under four years old.

The guy who got the skimmer that was originally on my tank before I bought it, has had it running for the last six months. I bought it to come back to its rightful tank :D

it. He took it out of his sump and gave it to me. I know it was running. Its been out of water about two weeks.

It wont work. I hear no hum or anything like its trying to start. Is it dead? He said that sometimes it didnt start back up and to turn the impeller. Well, I took it all apart and have turned it. Nothing happens. Any suggestions? Is four years about the life of one of these? Shouldn't I hear a hum or something if its dirty and needs to be cleaned?

And, if it is the pump, can I just buy a sedra 5000 and stick the euro reef impeller on it? And then its the same? or no, wishful thinking :D ? LOL

It has been a busy few weeks. I had lots of pictures of set up process, but I have been having a problem downloading on to my new laptop. Come to find out, its the scan disk on my camera that is going out. I lost all my vacation pics :( I somehow got these off the camera before the card x'd everything out.
