What kind of stuff do you think Hurricane Dean might wash up down there on Padre Island?

Think any cool corals?

We are planning on going down there this weekend. I have some high hopes that we will just miss it, and get to reap the benefits! :)

Oh we had this trip planned to actually be at the MAAST meeting, but people just kept renting our place out from underneath us, so this is the first weekend that we have had time to actually get down there. We are leaving late thursday night, hopefully we will get there in time for me to go out and look for peppermint shrimp!

I know for a fact that stingrays are all over the place right now. There was a large article about them in the paper today. 15 stings in a week.

I think the 'arm pit of the gulf', our fine Texas Coast, may get dirtier after all that garbage gets pushed our way from the storm!

Let me ask y'all, where in the jetties did yall collect? Right at the front where the waves break more or way far back where it is nice and calm? When we went last time, we were just grabbing crabs etc. Should i get back toward the grassier areas?

Go ALL the way to the end of the Jetty, after it gets dark, Lean over the very end with a Net and start scooping towards the jetty. Use a light to see, but the shrimp like to get out of the light so use it sparingly. I didnt get to do it personally but my brother-in-law did and this is what he told me.
